Organisation

The specialists of the Federal Office in the Industry Division of the National Economic Supply are supported by experts from the private sector (militia), as well as by associations and specialized administrative offices.

Division

The Industry Division is a strategically important interface for all divisions within the National Economic Supply (NES).

The division is organised into three sections:

  • Chemicals unit
Responsible for monitoring and assessing the availability of chemical raw materials and production inputs that are essential for the manufacture of vital goods, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Equipment unit
Focuses on equipment that is central to the economy, such as AdBlue (AUS 32) as a necessary additive for modern diesel engines, or the availability of emergency power generators.
  • Packaging unit
Responsible for issues relating to packaging availability, ensuring that essential goods can continue to be transported and delivered to consumers even in the event of packaging shortages.

Militia system

The specialists of the Federal Office in the Industry Division of the National Economic Supply (NES) are supported by experts from the private sector (militia), from industry associations, and from specialized administrative offices. Together, they contribute expertise from all stages of the value chain, thereby ensuring that the industrial sector can fulfill its central role in supplying the country even in times of shortage.

The Federal Office develops the necessary measures together with the militia. In doing so, the participating experts analyze the supply situation, develop and update intervention measures, and, when needed, also contribute to their implementation.
