Cantonal and Military Delegates of National Economic Supply

The cantons are important partners in the preparation and implementation of measures of the National Economic Supply. The federal government assigns certain tasks to them - for example, the cantons are responsible for water supply at normal times and also in times of shortage. In addition, national economic supply measures can have an impact on the activities of the cantons. They also have an important role to play in communicating measures.

In order to be able to inform the cantons quickly at any time about NES measures and to involve them in the preparations at an early stage, the National Economic Supply works closely with the cantonal delegates for national economic supply, with the military delegate for national economic supply and with the representation of the Principality of Liechtenstein.

This cooperation is regulated in the directives issued by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) to the cantons.
